It’s time for someone to step up.

With Harlee Dean’s suspension being upheld after his red card at Cardiff City last weekend, the Blues are going to be without their skipper for the next couple of weeks, and it’s left a few people wondering who will be given the armband in his place.

Noted Blues journalist Brian Dick asked supporters on Twitter who they thought should be given the honour, and fans couldn’t come to a unanimous decision.

It’s not as if they’ve even had a clue as to who Clotet has in mind as vice-captain, with Dean playing every minute of every league game so far this season.

Craig Gardner took the armband during the side’s 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Portsmouth earlier in the campaign, but with him having not made an appearance in the league so far this campaign, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll find himself in the matchday 18, let alone being given the captaincy again.

Whilst there wasn’t a unanimous call among the fans, one player did seem to get a lot more votes than others, with some claiming that he should have been given the armband at the start of the season.

That’s what the people think, so let’s see if Clotet follows their advice.
