Birmingham City manager Garry Monk endured a difficult summer on the transfer front as the club were placed under an embargo by the EFL, and even when this was lifted they were barred from signing any player for a fee, meaning loans were the only option.
In August the club signed 21-year-old winger Connor Mahoney from Bournemouth on a season-long temporary deal, but if the club wants to progress they must sign the winger on a permanent deal, if the finances allow it of course.

Mahoney has made 11 appearances for the Blues in all competitions after the 3-1 loss to Derby at Pride Park on Saturday, and he looks to be a huge talent.
Able to play off either wing, Mahoney ended last season on loan with Barnsley but he has only made two FA Cup appearances for the Cherries, along with a couple of pre-season friendlies, during his year-and-a-half at the club, meaning a reasonable offer could secure his services on a permanent basis.
So, Birmingham fans, would you like to make Mahoney’s move permanent in January or does any money need to be spent elsewhere? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
