Revealed: 63% of Birmingham fans feel McGinn would have been a Davis upgrade

Birmingham City have been slapped with a transfer embargo, which seriously hampers Garry Monk’s ability to improve his Blues options ahead of a season where he is surely tasked with guiding the club away from the relegation trouble they have battled since Gary Rowett’s surprise sacking.

That casts the fate of Kristian Pedersen into doubt – the left-back was signed this summer but cannot be registered under the embargo – and means that the former Leeds boss has to solider on with what he has.

However, prior to the embargo, the Blues were linked with Hibernian’s Scottish international midfielder John McGinn, who has been valued at around £4m.

So, as Monk prepares to mould what he has into a team who can get the fans excited again at St Andrew’s, we asked whether they’d rather be lining up with McGinn in the side or existing midfield option David Davis.
