The majority of Birmingham fans that voted in our recent poll said that they would like to see Bournemouth loanee Connor Mahoney sign on a permanent deal in January.

Manager Garry Monk endured a difficult summer on the transfer front as the club were placed under an embargo by the EFL, and even when this was lifted they were barred from signing any player for a fee, meaning loans were the only option.

In January though, despite the club still working with the EFL amid the fallout from their discretions, the fans are clearly keen to see a move for their current loan star.

After starting in the 3-1 loss to Derby at Pride Park last Saturday, Mahoney has made 11 appearances for the Blues in all competitions and he looks to be a huge talent.

Able to play off either wing, the 21-year-old ended last season on loan with Barnsley but he has only made two FA Cup appearances for the Cherries, along with a couple of pre-season friendlies, during his year-and-a-half at the club, meaning a reasonable offer could secure his services on a permanent basis.
