According to our recent poll, exactly 50 per cent of Birmingham fans would support an ambitious January loan move for Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Blues had an extremely difficult summer transfer window after falling foul of the EFL’s Financial Fair Play regulations, meaning they were subjected to a transfer embargo and banned from signing players.

After working with the EFL, a deal was eventually struck where they could sign up to five players, but none for a fee, and they were also allowed to register Danish left-back Kristian Pedersen.

However, although Garry Monk has worked wonders to propel the Blues to 12th place in the Championship table, he will certainly hoping to be able to make signings in the winter transfer window, even if these are just loan deals.

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Chelsea are now willing to listen to loan offers for Hudson-Odoi in January after the 18-year-old failed to break into Maurizio Sarri's team.

The England U19 international was one of the standout stars of Chelsea's pre-season and was rewarded with a start in the Community Shield, but since then he has only made two substitute appearances in the Europa League and should be looking for a move away.

There is no doubt that the youngster would be a huge signing for Birmingham, but perhaps the 50 per cent that said they would not support a move were thinking about other areas of the squad that needed more attention at St Andrew's, such as replacing 34-year-old goalkeeper Lee Camp.
