The surface at Bloomfield Road just keeps reaching new lows as Championship side Blackpool both struggle on and off the pitch.
The Seasiders’ surface looks more like something you’d expect to see at lower league rugby ground and not at a professional football club playing in England’s second tier.
Blackpool’s home turf so bad that their own players are now training on it to ‘familiarise themselves’ with the surface. Brighton and Millwall have already struggled to deal with the tricky conditions this season and apparently Blackpool playing their home games at the ground is not practice enough the deal with how bumpy it is.
The surface at Bloomfield Road was described as ‘an insult to supporters’ by visiting Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka following his side’s 2-1 victory over Blackpool.
The Football League have been in contact with Blackpool to demand an explanation for the state of the surface at Bloomfield Road.
