Cardiff City have confirmed the signing of Leandro Bacuna from Reading, per a statement on their official website.

The BBC report that the fee is around £4million as Neil Warnock's side strengthen their midfield as they look to avoid relegation.

What's the word?

Bacuna has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at the club, ending a two-year stay at Reading.

Former Wigan & Fulham man, Jimmy Bullard recently showed that he's still got it! Check out the video below...

The midfielder, who can operate in central midfield or defensive midfield, has scored three goals in the Championship thus far this season, per Transfermarkt, and has also provided three assists.

Cardiff are currently 18th in the Premier League, four points behind 17th-placed Burnley.

Warnock's men have won five games thus far this season, but have lost 15.

Life-saver?

Bacuna may prove to be a truly vital signing for Warnock.

The midfielder has Premier League experience, playing 85 times in the top-flight, and has the know-how to help steer Cardiff away from the relegation zone.

They have been crying out for inspiration and, at £4m, this looks like a bargain for a player who will add some much-needed steel to the centre of the pitch.

If he hits the ground running, Cardiff could soon be looking up the table, instead of over their shoulder.
