Charlton fans beg Patrick Bauer to stay after play-off heroics

The Addicks survived the worst possible start to go on and win at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, with Ben Purrington scoring his first goal in Charlton red before Patrick Bauer netted the winner in the dying seconds of injury time.

It didn’t look like being Lee Bowyer’s side’s day after an unforgivable lapse in concentration gave the Black Cats the lead inside five minutes but, from there on out, the SE7 outfit were in control.

It was a resilient performance typical of their excellent campaign and every single player can be extremely proud of what they’ve achieved in 2019, although they might not all be at The Valley next season.

Hero Bauer’s current deal expires this summer and he could be plying his trade elsewhere in 2019/20, with Blackburn Rovers sniffing around earlier in the year.
