Charlton host Luton Town at the weekend and will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run to an unprecedented 11 games, although it will be a tough task against the league leaders.
Lee Bowyer almost has a full complement of players fit, with Jake Forster-Caskey and Lewis Page back in training, although he won’t be able to pick from either for Saturday’s game. The Addicks boss also had something to say about Krystian Bielik and it makes a lot of sense given the Valley outfit’s newfound automatic promotion hopes.
Well, speaking in his pre-Luton presser, the 42-year-old said:
?LB: “Krystian Bielik has had injections. If he comes through training today and tomorrow he might be involved, but we have to look at the big picture and be careful. There are no other injury doubts.” #cafc

The Arsenal loanee has been a huge hit at the Valley this season and has impressed with his versatile and intelligence – save for the penalty he gave away versus Plymouth. He would be a huge miss for the remainder of the campaign if Bowyer and Co. rushed him back into the fold too quickly, hence the uncertainty.
Josh Cullen can step in for the big Pole capably at the base of midfield, although if Bielik is deemed fit for the game then it gives Bowyer the option of playing with three at the back – an approach which has yielded results in 2019.

The 21-year-old is good on the ball and capable of bringing it out from defence, while also being solid in the tackle and air. It would be a massive risk to rush him back in, albeit tempting considering how good he has been.
Bowyer is smart to approach the situation with caution as their are still five games left of the season – 450 minutes in which the Addicks can climb above Sunderland and into the top two.
