This year in particular has seen fans travel remarkable distances to support their beloved teams – with Swansea having such a successful run in the competition, many supporters have made the daunting trip to the Liberty Stadium in South Wales. And what of the Swansea fans themselves? They've followed their team to Crawley, Liverpool and Chelsea and have seen their club reach their first domestic cup final in its 100 year existence.

Middlesbrough's luck in the cup draw did not improve in this season's competition, as they continued their run of consecutive away games, bringing the total to 12 away fixtures in succession in the Capital One Cup. The Boro fans certainly didn't let this faze them, however, and saw their team qualify for the quarter-finals where they very nearly toppled Premier League big-boys Swansea.

It's a testament to the passion and commitment of football fans that these ghastly distances never deter them from their desire to support their team, rain or shine, in Wales or in Newcastle.

So we've thrown together a list of the fans that have travelled the longest distances in this year's Capital One Cup. Now that's commitment!
