Fulham eyeing surprise move for Chinese Super League striker

Fulham are keen on a shock loan deal for ex-Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan, according to reports from Sky Sports.

The Ghanaian ace is currently plying his trade in China with Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG, but his future in the Far East is in some doubt.

The arrival of big name Brazilian Hulk has limited his game time and reports claim that Fulham could offer the African star a route back to England on loan.

It’s understood the 30-year-old is keen to play under Cottagers boss Slavisa Jokanovic, although his massive wages could present issues in terms of negotiating a deal.

Fulham have lost star strikers Moussa Dembele and Ross McCormack already this summer, with the former moving to Celtic on a Bosman transfer and the latter signing for Championship rivals Aston Villa.

Gyan starred for Sunderland during 2010/11, but left to join UAE side Al Ain, initially on loan, where he was prolific in front of goal.

He then moved from the Middle Eastern outfit to China, signing for Shanghai SIPG in 2015.
