Fulham manager Martin Jol has confirmed that midfield pair Simon Davies and Giorgos Karagounis will leave the club this summer.
Davies has been hampered by injuries over the past few seasons and his career is still in the balance after failed comebacks this season.
Karagounis only arrived at Craven Cottage this year but has failed to nail down a regular first team spot and his relatively high wages will be cut from the wage bill.
Despite becoming a fans favourite, the 36 year old will be given the chance to start pre-season with the Cottagers, as will Davies.
Jol has reiterated his disappointed at Davies’ fitness levels but claims the former Tottenham winger has never been fully fit since he joined the club.
“The thing with Simon is as long as I was here he was never fully-fit for more than two or three weeks, and that’s a problem,” Martin Jol told Sky Sports.
“When he was fit he was a wonderful player but if he’s not fit we’ve got a problem, so we’ve got to sit down with him and talk about it.
“We will look after Simon and, of course, he can stay here as long as he needs to get fit, but it’s about him as well.
“He has to make his mind up about his own fitness and if he wants to play again.”
