Great escape still on, says Magath

Fulham manager Felix Magath still believes that his side have a good chance of avoiding relegation after their 3-1 loss against Tottenham.

Despite having been level at 1-1 going into half-time at White Hart Lane, the Cottagers were unable to take anything away from their London rivals, which leaves them two points from safety with just three games to go.

Norwich – in 17th – face a difficult run in where they play teams from the top seven in the league table, which has buoyed Fulham, who will take on Hull and Crystal Palace at home either side of a trip to Stoke.

Magath feels that if they can win their two remaining fixtures at Craven Cottage there is a good chance that they will avoid the drop:

“(We were) quite good, but not good enough; Tottenham were the better team and won.” He is quoted by The Express.

“If we had got any points here, it would have been an extra point for us.

“We have to win our home games and I think we can manage it.”

Fulham could well be boosted by the return to fitness of big money summer arrival Kostas Mitroglou for next weekend.
