Magath claims Fulham favourites to stay up

Fulham manager Felix Magath believes that his side are now more likely to avoid the drop than Norwich after their 1-0 home win against the Canaries.

A solitary Hugo Rodallega effort was enough to secure a vital victory for the Londoners at Craven Cottage, and move them to two points adrift of the East Anglian side with four games left to play.

Although Norwich have the advantage as it stands, they face a perilous run-in, with Liverpool due to visit Carrow Road next weekend before a closing three games against Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Meanwhile Fulham face a more generous close to the season with Tottenham, Hull, Stoke and Crystal Palace their opponents.

Speaking after the game, Magath said that he sees the momentum as being with his side as they bid to avoid the drop:

“I think Norwich have very tough games ahead so I think we are in front of Norwich, but you never know whether it’s enough or not,” he said after the victory.” He is quoted by talkSPORT.

“We have to go on winning and try to do better in the next game. It was a very important win but I am not so satisfied with the way we played today.

“There was a lot more pressure today so they didn’t play as well as we did last week but the most important thing is we got the win.”
