West Brom & Sunderland striker race: £9m transfer bid tabled

According to reports from The Daily Mail, Hull City have tabled a £9million transfer bid for Lorient striker Benjamin Moukandjo.

The 27-year-old signed for the French outfit last summer and enjoyed a strong debut campaign at Stade du Moustoir, netting 13 times in 31 Ligue 1 appearances.

The 5 foot 10 forward also boasts experience on the international scene, picking up 32 caps for Senegal – albeit producing a return of just four goals.

Last month, The Daily Mail revealed that Swansea City, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion have all expressed an interest in signing Moukandjo.

But the same publication now suggests Hull City are currently the front-runners for his signature, having tabled a £9million transfer bid.

It’s unknown whether Lorient have accepted the offer, but they’ll struggle to hold onto the African attacker with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

The Tigers have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, beating reigning champions Leicester City on the Premier League’s opening weekend.
