James Vaughan joins Derby on loan

Everton manager David Moyes has allowed James Vaughan to join Derby County on loan.

The 21-year-old, who had also been linked with Middlesbrough, has opted to join the Rams until January.

Vaughan, who has endured an injury-ravaged time recently, is currently behind Louis Saha, Jo and Yakubu in Moyes' striking pecking order.

Moyes said:"James has had a few problems with his knee but it's settled now. He trained the last few days and is OK.

"It would benefit him to go out on loan. It will benefit him to get some games, that will be valuable to the boy. He has missed a lot of football."

Vaughan has made 49 appearances for Toffees and found the net on seven occasions since making his debut in April 2005.
