Adam Forshaw has been out of the Leeds United squad for the majority of the ongoing season, only managing to feature in a total of 628 minutes across eight games played in all competitions.
His absence is, of course, a big loss for Marcelo Bielsa’s men and they really could’ve used someone to fill in for the midfielder during his absence.
Interestingly enough, the gaffer was actually asked about the club’s decision not to recruit a player fitting a similar profile in January, and the Argentine dismissed the claims, stating that a player of sufficient quality would have been expensive.
But the fans were not having it, claiming that Ryan Woods was available and ready to be poached before he moved from Stoke City to Millwall on loan.
Ryan woods was available so that’s that excuse out the window

Woods, Gallagher we’re both available don’t use the excuse of the money

Yeah that’s my thoughts exactly. Ryan Woods was the opportunity, or Adam Clayton.

Regardless of finances and Bielsa’s suggestion that nobody fits the bill, many fans were adamant that Woods, who signed for the Potters for £7m in January 2019 before moving to The Den earlier this year, should have been brought to Elland Road.
The midfielder seems to be their first choice when it comes to Forshaw’s ideal replacement.
Looking back now, it does seem like a missed opportunity…
Ryan Woods really would have been a great loan signing for Leeds knowing Forshaw has the hips of an old age pensioner.

Leeds should have gone in for Ryan Woods in January if they knew Forshaw was struggling

Finally, one fan even said that Leeds should do everything possible to secure his signing further down the line, labelling 26-year-old as a quality player.
Leeds should do everything they can to sign Ryan Woods for next season. Lads quality.
