Ahead of the rest: Leeds fans loving Jamie Shackleton’s England debut

Leeds United fans have been drooling over Jamie Shackleton’s performance as he made his debut for England U20s on Tuesday evening.

The 19-year-old slotted in at right back for the Young Lions, and he put in an incredibly assured performance that caught the eye of many Leeds fans.

The youngster enjoyed a good debut before being subbed off in the 76th minute, a decision described by one supporter as “laughable” due to the way he had played up to that point.

Although the England team lost 3-2 and in turn were eliminated from the Toulon tournament, the United teenager certainly impressed a number of spectators.

Shackleton made 24 appearances for the Whites last season, and he seemed to improve every time he stepped onto the pitch.

His performance in the playoff semi-final first leg against Derby has been the standout moment in his young career so far, and now he has taken his talents to the international stage.
