Ayling hails Leeds United away support

Leeds United seem to be finding their feet again after going through a difficult spell in the Championship.

After losing nine of their 11 league fixtures, Thomas Christiansen’s side managed to claim a 2-0 victory over Barnsley on away soil.

Samuel Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski struck within the first half, and they were able to maintain that advantage to snatch all three points.

As it stands, the club are eighth in the standings, three points adrift of the playoff places and 11 behind the two automatic spots.

Luke Ayling has received some criticism this season for failing to recreate his consistently strong performances from the 2016-17 campaign.

The defence-minded player was at fault during midweek’s 4-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he was on the winning side on Saturday.

After the final whistle, the 26-year-old took to social media to express his gratitude towards the fans that travelled to Oakwell for the match.

Next up for Leeds is a clash against Aston Villa at Elland Road on December 1.
