‘Come to Leeds’ – Fans beg record-holder to move to Elland Road

Stoke City striker Peter Crouch is no stranger to Twitter fame, having seen a number of his tweets go viral over the years.

Now Leeds United fans are using the social media platform to beg the striker to make the move to Elland Road.

Crouch’s future is uncertain following Stoke’s relegation, and Leeds fans are hoping their novel tactic will persuade the popular striker to move north this summer.

Holding the record for the most headed goals ever in the Premier League, the Elland Road faithful will be hoping Crouch can offer a different threat for the club next season.

The fans were responding to a Crouch tweet in which he posted a video of himself shooting a football into a basketball net and then calling out Gareth Southgate to bring him to the World Cup.

Fan favourite Crouch hasn’t played in England’s second division since he was on loan at Norwich City in the 2003-04 season when he helped the Canaries gain promotion to the top flight, and Leeds fans will be hoping the 37-year-old can have the same impact for the Whites next season.
