We weren’t expecting Leeds to bring in any defensive reinforcements this month, but recent reports have indicated that they’re looking into that possibility as they’ve been linked with Connor Goldson.
The Whites could probably do with a new centre-back as Liam Cooper is the only senior centre-half signed on beyond the end of this season with Ben White’s loan expiring this summer and Gaetano Berardi’s contract up at the end of the campaign.

Unfortunately, Leeds aren’t the only team in the market for Goldson, but their path towards signing him may have just got easier.
Football Insider have reported that the Yorkshire club are in for Goldson, but they also stated that there is another team rivalling them to his signature.
Indeed, the site have previously claimed that Championship rivals Fulham have looked into the possibility of signing the Rangers defender, but a confirmed deal that went through on Thursday evening may well affect that.
Terence Kongolo signed for Fulham on loan as the club announced his arrival this week.
Usually, seeing your promotion rivals signing a man who was once capped for the Netherlands wouldn’t be a good thing, but this could have a positive effect on Leeds.

The 25-year-old is the second centre-back to arrive at Fulham this month after the Michael Hector came in earlier in the window, and with the London club also having Alfie Mawson and Tim Ream at their disposal it’s hard to see them signing a third centre-half this month.
That opens the path for Leeds to go out and get Goldson. With Fulham already landing two defensive recruits, a swoop for a third seems unlikely. As a result, Leeds may now have a clear run at signing the 27-year-old.
