Leeds fans have reacted to Marcelo Bielsa’s claim that the result against Wigan on Good Friday was down to God rather than his team’s performance.
The Whites lost 2-1 against the Latics despite leading early on and the Lancashire club being down to 10 men.
Bielsa has shifted the blame away from his players and instead chose to point the finger towards a higher power.
Perhaps the Argentine was insinuating that Gavin Massey was God after his brace sunk Bielsa’s men last week.
The Leeds boss said in his press conference today: “The final result was a decision of God, not mine. I know people will treat that sarcastically.”
The manager was spot on with his prediction as fans treated the comments sarcastically with one supporter commenting “But Bielsa is God” just one week after fans flew a ‘Bielsa is God’ banner over Elland Road.
The losses over the Easter weekend has seen the Whites drop down to third place in the Championship, three points behind Sheffield United with just two games of the season to go.
Here’s what Leeds fans have been saying on Twitter…
Even God is against us, shock

He is. Seen him in the dugouts at Elland Road all season mate.

I find that a little worrying to be honest. Fate or God didn’t decide it, it was decided because when needed, we didn’t come up with the quality as it doesn’t seem to be there. I hope he knows that really for next season, whatever division we’re in (if he stays!)

Can we get a priest to exercise the demons at Elland Road & rid ourselves of the curse then?
