Head’s Gone: Leeds fans believe Wilder is feeling the pressure

Leeds fans on Twitter have been loving what they’ve been hearing from Chris Wilder, believing that the Sheffield United boss has gone into meltdown after his side fell three points behind in the race for promotion.

Wilder came out in the media and said: “You do not get to where we are without having a good attitude and without being able to get off the canvas at times. If they want the big prize, it is there to be taken – by a player who shows a bit of magic or a team that wants to grab what is out there.

“If they want to feel sorry for themselves, we may as well just think ‘let us see who we get in the play-offs and go through that lottery.’ If they do feel sorry for themselves though, they will not pull a shirt on. They know what I am like.”

Leeds fans have relished in Wilder’s comments as they believe the 51-year-old is feeling the pressure in the final weeks of the season.

Sheffield United’s form has been shaky in recent weeks as they have picked up just two points in their last two games. The Blades conceded late against Millwall on Saturday and Leeds supporters believe that the promotion race is proving too much for Wilder.

The battle for automatic promotion has been back and forth in recent weeks but heading into the final four games of the season Leeds now know that 10 points would be enough to get them over the line.
