How Leeds could lineup without Phillips or Jansson

Leeds United may have done a lot of transfer business this past week, but it’s seemingly far from over for the Yorkshire club.

There may not be too many more incomings, but two huge outgoings could be on the horizon.

Kalvin Phillips to Aston Villa is a rumour that has circulated for a while now, and it simply isn’t going away even if the club has opened talks with the 23-year-old over a new contract.

While Leeds fans were quick to write off the reports linking Pontus Jansson to Fulham, Phil Hay confirmed on Saturday that he is set to leave Elland Road in a £5.5m deal, with Brentford said to be the destination.

Marcelo Bielsa’s starting XI could certainly look very different next term, and we’re going to take a look at how they might line-up after their business is all said and done.

Another man who has been looking like heading towards an exit at Elland Road is Kiko Casilla. Leeds have been linked with a move for Brentford’s Luke Daniels, but as things stand it could be Peacock-Farrell who assumes the role of number one.

The defence is largely the same. Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper and Barry Douglas keep their spots, but a potential departure for Jansson means that new man Ben White lines up alongside the United captain at centre-back.

The midfield has undergone something of an overhaul as well. With Kalvin Phillips potentially heading off to Villa Park, Ivan Sunjic takes his place with the Whites apparently looking at him as a replacement.

The newly arriving Helder Costa and Jack Harrison slot right in meaning Pablo Hernandez has to take up a more central position and Mateusz Klich remains in his spot.

Up top, Bielsa still has to choose between Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford, but in this line-up Roofe is the preferred option after netting 15 goals last term.
