HYS: Should Leeds drop Bielsa race to grab Steve Bruce?

According to reports, Leeds are closing in on the capture of Marco Bielsa as their new manager, but should they change course for a safer option?

Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post has eased Leeds fans’ fears over their new manager hunt today, saying “talks are continuing” for the illustrious Marcelo Bielsa, although there is no deal in place yet.

Bielsa would be an incredible coup for Leeds, and the enigmatic Argentine would definitely ruffle a few feathers in the Championship.

Known for his 3-3-3-1 formation, which allows fast transitions from defence to attack, Bielsa would get Leeds playing some really exciting football, but there are concerns over the fact that he does not speak English.

While the negotiations with the former Argentina boss drag on, Steve Bruce has suddenly moved into the frame, as bookmakers slashed odds on the Aston Villa man moving to Elland Road.

SkyBet have moved Bruce from 20/1 into 5/1 in the last 48 hours, making him the third favourite behind Bielsa and Claudio Ranieri.

This comes after the Telegraph claimed Leeds had approached Bruce over the possibility of replacing Paul Heckingbottom.

Bruce is an expert at getting teams out of the Championship, but Leeds fans need something to excite them, and the football Villa played last season would not do that.

So, Leeds fans, which man would you prefer to replace Heckingbottom? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
