HYS: Should Leeds keep faith with Jay-Roy Grot next season?

Leeds’ summer signings last year were a disaster, but does Jay-Roy Grot deserve another chance at Elland Road?

When Jay-Roy Grot signed from NEC last summer, Leeds fans were hopeful that the youngster could excel in the Championship

On the surface, Grot has all the tools to be a great Championship striker. He’s big and tough for a young lad, and to stick with the old cliché he’s got good feet for a big man.

The 20 year-old had a pretty horrific season though, falling down the pecking order behind Pierre-Michel Lasogga and even Caleb Ekuban.

The young Dutchman did get his first Championship goal against Sheffield Wednesday in March, but fans were certainly not impressed by his debut season.

That said, if Leeds are going to appease the fans by signing a truly top goalscorer, surely the 20 year-old deserves another chance?

This is not to say Grot should be an immediate starter, but the 20 year-old showed some small glimpses of his potential this season, and without the pressure of the team being desperately short of goals he may excel as the second option behind a new signing.

So, Leeds fans, would you give Jay-Roy Grot another chance next season? Let us know by voting in the poll below…
