According to German outlet Bild, Leeds are keen on a move for Hoffenheim’s Steven Zuber, who has fallen out of favour this season – the versatile midfielder would be an ideal replacement for the unpopular Ezgjan Alioski.
Bild reports that, after making just six starts for Die Kraichgauer this season, Swiss international Zuber could be heading out the door in the January window with the club not adverse to allowing a transfer to happen.
The 27-year-old can play on either wing – or as a left wing-back should Marcelo Bielsa decide to get experimental – and could provide a significant upgrade on Alioski, who has scored four goals and chalked up three assists this season, while also lessening the creative burden on Jack Clarke and Pablo Hernandez now that Samu Saiz has left.
While he may be slowly drifting out of the picture at Hoffenheim this campaign, Zuber has 21 caps for his national side, scoring five goals and has shown his quality on just about every stage there is.
What do you think, Whites fans? Should Bielsa and co break the bank and sign the £9m rated wide-man? Let us know by voting in the poll below…
