Joy to watch: Leeds fans gush over Hernandez after POTY award

Leeds fans on Twitter have been gushing over Pablo Hernandez after his extraordinary campaign was topped off with him receiving the club’s Player of the Year Award.

Hernandez became only the second player in the Whites’  storied history to win back-to-back awards after Jemaine Beckford completed the feat in both 2008 and 2009.

The Spaniard has been a huge part of the Yorkshire club’s promotion push this season netting 12 goals and assisting a further 12.

It was a tightly contested race for the award this year with many supporters voicing that Kalvin Phillips would have been a worthy recipient but in the end, it was clear that Hernandez had to take home the trophy.

The season is far from over for Leeds and Hernandez as they are now potentially just three games away from the Premier League as they face the play-offs.

Fans will be hoping that the 34-year-old’s performances don’t drop off during the post-season and that he can keep up the form that earnt him the Player of the Year title.
