Having made well over 100 appearances for the club now, Ezgjan Alioski has established himself as a key part of the Leeds United first-team squad. This season has seen Marcelo Bielsa alternate between using him as a left-midfielder and at left-back, with even one game as a right-midfielder too.
Against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, Alioski found himself on the bench as Leeds looked to strengthen their position at the top of the Championship.

But after being brought on in the second-half for Barry Douglas, the Macedonian delivered a cameo that was as bad as anyone could have imagined.

As per Sofascore, his 6.1 match rating was the worst of any player on the pitch, and when looking at his underlying numbers, it is easy to see why.
He won just one of his five total duels, made no tackles or interceptions, was dribbled past twice, and lost possession nine times. After seeing his performance, Leeds fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the 27-year-old.
Alioski’s been even more headless chicken than ever since he’s come on!

Wow we’ve been bad today! Alioski has done nothing but cause trouble, weird change! No one seems to have an idea of what to do, early Bamford chance is costing us
— Jack Watkin (@JackWatkin) 11 January 2020
He’s an absolute joke Alioski. Surely only in the squad for comedy value

A few Leeds fans were particularly critical of his positioning, claiming that his tendencies as a winger seemed to have him go too far up the pitch despite being needed to play at left-back.
Alioski comes on = Left back position is non-existent. #LUFC

Alioski is always too far up the pitch it’s so frustrating, was hoping Douglas cements his spot in the team
— Hater of Football (@leedsinfidel) 11 January 2020
Alioski might as well be a striker he lives that far up the pitch. Pathetic

A couple of supporters even labelled Alisoki as a “liability” to their team following his performance.
I’m sorry but Alioski is a dreadful player. A liability #lufc

Alioski is our new liability

Despite only coming on mid-way through the second half, Alisoki certainly seemed to draw the ire of the Leeds faithful. The 27-year-old effectively made his side worse once he was introduced, the complete opposite of what substitutes are supposed to do. In games going forward, Bielsa may just think twice before opting to bring the Macedonian into the team.
