Leeds United will be looking to make it three straight wins in all competitions when they welcome Brentford in the Championship on Wednesday night.
And the match will see Pontus Jansson return to Elland Road for the first time since leaving the Marcelo Bielsa’s side during the summer transfer window.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Bielsa urged the Leeds fans to give the Sweden international a positive reception during the match.
And judging by the reaction on social media, it seems that the majority of the club’s supporters are of the same opinion when it comes to the central defender.

It remains to be seen what type of reaction Jansson receives on Wednesday night. However, the Leeds fans appear to agree with Bielsa’s words, as seen by the tweets below:
Considering he did nothing wrong why would there even be a suggestion of booing him?

Not saying he should have his name sung for 90 minutes but anyone that goes out of their way to boo him needs to grow up

Hes’ 100% right. I personally hope Pontus gets a warm welcome back. He’s not perfect, but who is?

He should be given a heroes reception, he was loyal and brilliant at times and gave his all in every game he played, and he never wanted to leave, it was his dream to play in the prem with Leeds and Bielsa took that dream away from him.

can’t understand why he would get a bad reception. The lad didn’t want to leave clearly and have his all every time he stepped out. He’ll still be doing the salute in his head whatever shirt he has on
