Leeds fans annoyed by Heckingbottom comments on youngsters

Paul Heckingbottom says he needs to see more of Leeds’ Under-23 stars before throwing them into first team action, and fans are not happy with the manager.

Leeds fans have found something else to criticise manager Paul Heckingbottom for, after the 40 year-old played it cool over talks of introducing the U23s to the senior side this season.

After the Boxing Day win over Burton Albion, Leeds were looking nailed on for a playoff place at the very least.

Three months and just 11 points later though, and the side have pretty much nothing left to play for, hanging in mid-table limbo waiting for the season to end.

Fans have not been particularly impressed by manager Paul Heckingbottom, and have called for some of the red hot U23 side to get a chance in the first team.

Carlos Corberán’s youngsters have won four in a row, scoring 11 goals in that period, but Heckingbottom says he needs to see more of them before chucking them into the senior side.

For many fans, this season’s capitulation should be a chance for the likes of Sam Dalby, Tyler Denton, Jack Clarke and Paudie O’Connor to get first team minutes, and fans have been reacting to the manager’s comments on Twitter…
