Leeds fans are begging Abel Hernandez to join the club

Leeds United haven’t exactly had the busy summer transfer window their fans were hoping for.

The only arrival through the gates of Elland Road has been Chelsea loanee Lewis Baker, despite a number of big names being liked with the club for big money.

One of those big names is Abel Hernandez, the former Hull City striker whose contract with the Tigers finished at the end of the season and is now available on a free transfer.

The Uruguay international, who is rated at £6.3m by Transfermarkt, scored 37 goals during his time at the KCOM Stadium and Leeds are desperate to add to a strike force that only managed to score 57 goals last season.

It was reported last month by Leeds Live that the Whites were close to agreeing personal terms with the 27-year-old, but talks appear to have stalled, and Hernandez is no closer to announcing his next move.

He posted an upbeat message on Twitter and Leeds fans immediately responded, begging him to sign for Leeds.
