Leeds fans are delighted that Marcelo Bielsa is showing faith in Jamie Shackleton

Jamie Shackleton has signed a three-year contract with Leeds United just days after he made his debut for the club according to Sky Sports.

The 18-year-old midfielder came through the ranks of the Leeds academy and made his first appearance coming on as a 73rd minute substitute as the Whites demolished Derby County 4-1 in their second game of the season.

Shackleton, who can also play as a right wing-back, was reportedly told by Marcelo Bielsa to bring balance to the game in midfield and keep the team organised when he came on for his first senior game.

The Leeds-born youngster was involved with the squad over pre-season and his new contract ties him down at the club until 2021.

Shackleton will hope to feature more under Marcelo Bielsa after the new boss has put his faith in the promising youngster.

Leeds fans have been reacting to the news on social media and it seems they are universally delighted that one of the club’s top young prospects has committed his future to the club.
