Leeds fans are desperate for the club to sign Marcus Maddison

According to Football Insider, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has told the club to pursue a deal for Peterborough United playmaker Marcus Maddison as he looks to build his squad ahead of the new Championship season.

Maddison scored 12 goals and created 23 assists in all competitions last season as he flourished in his fourth campaign with Posh.

However it looks as though that may well have been his last season at London Road, as chairman and owner Darragh MacAnthony has honoured an agreement with Maddison that he could leave the club if they failed to get promoted from League 1.

Alongside current attacking midfielders Pablo Hernandez and Samuel Sáiz, Maddison could create a dangerous and creative three to play behind a new striker for Bielsa.

Leeds fans on Twitter have been willing the club to secure the signing of the 24-year-old and some have hoped that Tyler Denton’s recent loan move from Leeds to Posh was a sign that Maddison may be coming the other way. Check out some of the best Tweets below.
