Leeds United fans on Twitter are fuming with the EFL after Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane was let off scot-free despite seemingly punching Mateusz Klich during an altercation between the two players on Sunday.
Supporters of the Yorkshire club haven’t hidden their frustrations with the EFL claiming that the governing body is “corrupt” and a “joke”, responding to a post by Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay.
Whites chairman Andrea Radrizzani was also baffled by the decision and he took to Twitter to share his surprise.
Whilst the Irish midfielder escaped any punishment, Patrick Bamford received a two-game ban for his alleged dive during Sunday’s game.
This could have huge ramifications come the end of the season as both teams are playoff bound, with Bamford set to miss the first leg of Leeds’ semi-final clash whilst Hourihane will be available for the Midlands club.
The Elland Road faithful have held grievances with the EFL for years and just this season their club has fallen foul of them.
Here’s what Leeds fans have been saying on Twitter…
Astonishing. The bias is outrageous.

Not seen?!? There’s enough footage doing the rounds and enough people @ing both the FA and EFL. Ignorance is bliss I suppose. Absolutely ridiculous.

Yet again the decision goes against Leeds by the @EFL When will they just be fair across the board with their decisions instead of one rule for us and one for everyone else? It’s getting beyond a joke now and it really needs to stop. How is a punch not violent conduct in any way?

This organisation has seen more corruption than AC-12

This is becoming a joke, shows how the @EFL and refs are not fit for purpose.

Absolutely ridiculous Phil, Not only are we competing against 23 teams we’re also competing against the FA and EFL. If one of our player’s punched an opposition player he would be banned how can it not be deemed violent conduct.
