Mysterious Leeds signing Yosuke Ideguchi did not even make the squad for his loan club this weekend, and fans are crucifying the club for signing the Japanese international.
There have been some pretty strange signings in football down the years, but none more bemusing than Leeds’ move for Yosuke Ideguchi.
Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano moving to West Ham was odd, and Ali Dia joining Southampton as George Weah’s cousin deserves a mention, but Ideguchi might be one of the most purely confusing signings in football history.
The 21 year-old moved to Leeds from Gamba Osaka in January, and was immediately loaned out to Spanish side Cultural Leonesa.
Leonesa are struggling at the bottom of Spain’s second tier, but the young midfielder still cannot get a game.
Ideguchi has played just 111 minutes in the Segunda Division since the move that was supposed to secure his World Cup spot, and hasn’t played since February.
Despite already having 11 Japan caps, the 21 year-old didn’t even make the squad for Leonesa’s crucial clash with Cordoba this weekend, and fans are butchering the club for signing him.

Horrible loan deal, especially for the lad himself.

Seriously questioning what’s going on there. First of all I feel bad for him – he’s missed his chance of playing in the World Cup because of this entire debacle
