Loads of Leeds fans have been reacting to some comments from Doncaster manager Grant McCann regarding Leeds youngster Mallik Wilks.
As is so often the case with young players at big clubs, Wilks is yet to make a league appearance for Leeds.
The Leeds-born 19 year-old is still waiting for his chance Elland Road, but has been fairly promising on his loan spells.
After scoring three times with Accrington Stanley and failing to find the net in a brief spell with Grimsby Town, the 6ft tall attacker joined Doncaster Rovers this summer, where he has grabbed three goals in eight league games.
Despite his red-hot start to the season though, McCann does not think he will ever break through at Leeds.
“My personal opinion is he will not ever get a chance at Leeds. I think that they will strengthen again in January and they are strong up there (in attack), with the boy Tyler Roberts. It is going to be difficult for Mallik,” the Doncaster boss said.
“Him and his agent need to decide whether he wants to stay at Leeds and extend his contract or Mallik wants to go and sample the Football League.”
While it’s good to see the youngster is making an impression at his loan club, bashing his chances of making it at Elland Road doesn’t really seem like the right way to go about getting what you want.
Lots of fans have been reacting to the comments, and it’s fair to say they’re not too impressed. You can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
If Wilks is reading these comments I hope he knows he’s rated at Leeds and has a very good chance of a future here. Why would he want to go to a club where that manager gives ill advice? Not what a young player needs at all.

Needs to put a sock in it, after he’s shot himself in the foot of course. Carlos knows Mallik well, nothing McCann cld tell him about the lad.
We must give him a new contract to either bring him back & consider him for 1st team squad or extract maximum value, another loan maybe.

McCann Actually contradicts himself in the article. Telling us he has “huge potential”. So why then would he want to leave Leeds??keeps his form and keeps working as hard as he can and anything can happen. He’s only a young lad.

They seem monumentally ill judged remarks. The manager of a club where a loan player is should not be urging that player not to sign a new contract at his parent club. Why would any club loan a player to Donny in future if this is their conduct?

Hope we bring him back purely for those bitter quotes

“his own form likely to have gone unnoticed at Leeds”
With Bielsa in charge, nothing goes unnoticed.

I’d recall him now the cheeky buggers.
