Leeds fans bash Huddersfield fans for dig at Leeds

Leeds fans are absolutely crucifying Huddersfield and their fans, after a report in the Huddersfield Daily Examiner claimed Leeds have the most deluded fan base in England.

The Huddersfield Daily Examiner has asked its readers who the most deluded fan base in England are, and Leeds are currently winning the vote by a large margin.

The Terriers of course earned a remarkable promotion to the Premier League last season, and the article takes issues with a piece in the Yorkshire Evening Post that claimed Yorkshire football was in poor health.

Leeds is undoubtedly the bigger club between the two rivals, but the Terriers have currently got all the bragging rights, as their incredible 1-1 draw at Chelsea secured their Premier League status for another season.

“The ‘Champions of Europe’ believe they have a divine right to dine at the top table of English football,” the author writes of Leeds.

“Yet despite their huge support base, the Whites have been out of the top flight for 14 years (having a spell in League One as well) with a renowned non-league manager even managing them for a spell back in 2014.”

It seems bizarre to suggest Leeds fans are deluded though, as you’d be hard pushed to find a fan base that’s more disillusioned and pessimistic about their club right now than the Elland Road faithful.

Leeds fans have been reacting to the piece on Twitter, and some of the best reactions can be found below…
