Leeds United failed to build on Friday’s 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at promotion-chasing Fulham on Tuesday night.
It was always going to be a big ask for Leeds to take something from the match at Craven Cottage, and it turned out to be a pretty routine home victory for the league’s third-placed team.
Leeds did have their chances to register, but a number of players were guilty of poor finishing. One of those was Jay-Roy Grot, who came off the bench for the latter stages of the clash.
The 20-year-old has only managed one league goal for Leeds this season following last summer’s move, but he had a brilliant chance in the 79th minute of the match at Craven Cottage.
A terrible miss saw the striker head over the crossbar from close range, however, and the Leeds fans were left absolutely furious.
It has been a difficult season for Grot, and many of the Leeds supporters feel that the Dutchman is simply not good enough to ply his trade at Elland Road.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:

I knew we wouldn’t miss Wood – Grot and Ekuban easily replaces him this season. ?

Doukara would have scored the Grot Ekuban chances.

I don't think that tweet quite tells the full story do you?

And by close range you mean 5 yards, unmarked, in an open net more or less

Who ever scouts these players & thinks they were better than what we had want their eyes testing ,a half decent striker would have us level in this game not to mention the points from previous matches when we’ve missed sitters ,so poor ,as paying fans we deserve so much more

Is tonight some sort of competition to see who the worst finisher at the club is?!

How this man gets in the team is beyond me, Grot to go
