Leeds fans are predicting big things from youth goalkeeper Will Huffer after the 19 year-old was called up to the England U20 squad.
The goalkeeping situation at Leeds has been pretty toxic this season, with Andy Lonergan reaching the end of his career and Felix Wiedwald’s move from Werder Bremen proving disastrous for all involved.
The future suddenly looks pretty bright for goalkeepers at Elland Road though, as Will Huffer and Bailey Peacock-Farrell have now both emerged as future number ones.
Peacock-Farrell has impressed in the first team with busy performances against Wolves and Reading, and Huffer has been in sensational form for Carlos Corberan’s U23 side this season.
Huffer has now been rewarded with a call-up to England’s U20 squad for their friendlies with Poland and Portugal. The teenager signed his first professional contract at Elland Road in December, and wants to follow in Peacock-Farrell’s footsteps by breaking into the first team.
Leeds fans have been showing their support for the youngster on Twitter, and some of the best reactions can be found below…
