Leeds fans desperate for Caicedo arrival

Leeds United are said to be interested in signing Lazio forward Felipe Caicedo in this summer’s transfer window – as recently covered by Sport Witness.

Caicedo only joined Lazio from Espanyol last summer, but netted just three Serie A goals during the 2017-18 campaign, and has been linked with a move away from Italy.

It is understood that the 29-year-old is interested in a return to England, having previously turned out for Manchester City between 2008 and 2011.

Caicedo actually managed a decent return of seven goals in 25 appearances during the 2008-09 campaign, and twice got into double figures at Espanyol before leaving for Lazio.

The Leeds fans have been reacting to the transfer speculation on social media, with new head coach Marcelo Bielsa, who also reportedly wants Abel Hernandez, desperate to improve his strike force ahead of the new campaign.

It is unlikely that the Championship club would have to break the bank to sign the former Ecuador international this summer, and a number of Leeds supporters are keen for the deal to go through ahead of the 2018-19 season.
