Leeds dropped their first points of the season against Nottingham Forest at the weekend as they drew 1-1, conceding a sloppy goal but also being denied a penalty.
Adam Forshaw was the one who started alongside Mateusz Klich in a creative role but his display left a host of fans bewildered after someone posed the question of why everything seemed to be his fault.
The midfielder has already taken flack on Twitter after having his say ahead of their opening clash a week previous.
Yet, he’s now been the subject of more discussion. One fan claimed that he was this year’s whipping boy whilst another said they couldn’t get their head around the fact he was being targeted because he’s a solid player.
The 27-year-old went down theatrically in the penalty area in the first half, being denied a spot-kick as one supporter described him as someone who puts the team in danger. Others were more kind as one said he was in their top three to four players from the day’s game.
Per WhoScored, Forshaw finished the match with a pass success of 87%, winning three aerial duels. However, he failed to make a single key pass.
Here’s what Leeds fans have been saying.
This year’s whipping boy.

Sorry, I’m not having that he dont make mistakes, yes they all do but the amount of times his passes go astray or he gets mugged thinking hes got all the time in the world, he puts us in danger and worst of all he is so negative it breaks up our own play and attacks be brave ffs

Can’t get my head around it. He’s a solid player, can ping a ball and players struggle to get the ball off him. Yet he’s always at fault and is slated (probably by clueless spectators who have never played the game).

He was very good today, not perfect but I’d put him in the top 3/4 players.
We were frustratingly unlucky and whenever that happens people blame a single player. Hernandez had a poor game apart from his goal but I haven’t seen people mention this.

Played well or people are watching a different game to me people tend to hate a certain player no matter what

He did well today. In all honesty he usually does but unfortunately we have a large section of our supporters who watch their football on Twitter and they just copy what eachother say

Forshaw for me is not the best option .. needs to much time on the ball when trying to go forward .. decent defence wise just not my favourite going forward.. still like him

Thought he was pretty solid today, problems are up front as usual

Every team has one and unfortunately it’s usually Cooper or Forshaw
