According to reliable source ExWHUEmployee, Leeds United are interested in bringing former defender Sam Byram back to Elland Road this summer.
The right-back moved from his boyhood club to West Ham in 2016 but has since struggled to make an impression for the Premier League outfit.
The 24-year-old has only made 17 Premier League starts since his move to the top-flight and it appears that West Ham are willing to let the player leave this summer.
Byram is comfortable playing as a right-back or higher up the pitch and can cause a real threat with his pacy runs from deep.
It claims that a loan deal could also be on the cards for the young defender and other unnamed Championship clubs are interested.
Leeds fans have been reacting to the news on social media, with some desperate to see Byram back in white at Elland Road, while others thinking he would struggle to displace Luke Ayling in the side.
If he does come back I’d like to see him play as a RM like he did before he left. Was scoring goals more or less every away game we played.

Byram had his time at Leeds and left way too early for me, good player but Ayling is my right back starting the season so if byram came back he would have to warm the bench

Would sooner give @LewieCoyle a chance than take Sam back, don’t think he would be anything like the player we let go and think the year on loan with Fleetwood will have done Lewie the world of good I don’t think it’s an area we need strengthening .

I’d rather have Ayling.

He WAS great when he was with us then he wanted to leave and collect his 30 pieces of silver ..he has not progressed since he left all he has got is richer

I don’t think I’d want Byram back, he was never the same player after his injury, probably why he never hit off in the prem. he is no longer the player he was.

I wouldn't want Byram instead of Ayling but I'd take Byram and push him up the right had side. The two of them over lapping down the right would be 🔥
