Leeds fans fearing the worst for Pearce contract talks

Leeds fans are fearing the worst over the future of Tom Pearce, despite reports the youngster will enter fresh contract talks this week.

It’s been a pretty long season for Leeds fans this season, but there has unquestionably been one silver lining – the rise of several young players.

Paul Heckingbottom replaced Thomas Christiansen in February and has come under plenty of criticism from fans, picking up just four wins since taking the helm.

If there’s one thing the ex-Barnsley man has got right it is his trust in youth, giving chances to impressive youngsters like Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Paudie O’Connor, Ryan Edmondson and Tom Pearce.

Peacock-Farrell and Pearce have been particularly impressive, and the club are now desperate to tie Pearce down to a new contract.

The 20 year-old full back’s contract runs out this summer, but he will enter fresh contract talks this week.

Pearce was an Everton academy player, and is reportedly attracting interest from his former club.
