Leeds United fans on Twitter were not happy with the FA after Southampton striker Charlie Austin escaped punishment for his post-match rant about refereeing, just over a month after Pontus Jansson was banned for comments he made in a live interview.

The Whites’ Swedish centre-back was suspended for one match by the FA after he questioned referee Jeremy Simpson’s decision to award Brentford a penalty during the 1-1 draw between the two teams at the start of October.

The 27-year-old later apologised on Twitter for his comments, but Leeds did not appeal the ban which he served in the home game against Ipswich.

However, Southampton striker Charlie Austin has now escaped punishment from the FA for his post-match rant about referee Simon Hooper’s decision to disallow his goal in the 1-1 draw with Watford last weekend, and Leeds fans are not happy at all.
