Leeds fans are fuming that there wasn’t more action in the last transfer window, as several strikers available in January are making their marks around the Championship.
Leeds welcome league leaders Wolves to Elland Road tonight with their season in limbo. Paul Heckingbottom’s team were beaten comfortably by Middlesbrough on Friday night, and are desperate to gain some ground on the playoff places.
To make matters worse, several strikers that moved clubs in January scored on Tuesday night, leaving Leeds fans wondering why more wasn’t done in the window to aid their season.
Aleksandar Mitrović scored twice for Fulham against Sheffield United; the Serbian has been a huge hit at Craven Cottage. Bournemouth’s Lewis Grabban continued his loan success from Bournemouth, scoring for Aston Villa against former club Sunderland.
Swansea City’s Oliver McBurnie grabbed a goal for Barnsley in their 2-1 defeat at Cardiff City, the striker’s fifth goal in six games at the club.
Leeds have won just once in their last 11 league games and have failed to score in five of them, so fans are questioning why they didn’t pursue one of the several strikers up for grabs in January.
