Gaetano Berardi will miss the rest of the season after picking up his third red card of the season this weekend, and Leeds fans have lost patience with the 29 year-old.
Leeds fans have had plenty to be upset about in recent months, and the 1-1 draw against Sunderland added yet another disappointing result to this miserable season.
Paddy McNair put the hosts in front before Pablo Hernandez’s sublime equaliser, but Gaetano Berardi’s late red card killed any momentum Leeds had as they pushed for a winner, and in fact nearly resulted in a winner for Sunderland’s Callum McManaman.
Berardi has now been sent off three times this season after his dismissals against Bristol City and Cardiff City. Three red cards means a five-match ban according to FA rules, so he will not play again this season.
The Swiss defender has a history of ill-discipline too, and now has six red cards for Leeds since joining in 2014.
The 29 year-old’s late tackle on Saturday was absolutely ludicrous, as he flew into McManaman with two feet off the ground.
Leeds fans are not happy with Berardi, and what has often been interpreted as passion from the full back is now being seen quite simply as stupidity.

Fed up with reading "Berardi plays with passion" it means nothing if you're not good enough and can't control yourself.

Get rid, he behaves like a Sunday league footballer with his tackles, and it costs us.
