Leeds United fans on Twitter are gutted that the club are set to sell Mallik Wilks after Phil Hay confirmed that it was looking like he would be headed to either Hull City or Barnsley.
The 20-year-old is coming off the back of a fantastic season out on loan at Doncaster Rovers where he scored 14 and assisted eight.
Form like that had Leeds supporters in awe of him last term, but now the fanbase are gutted as he hasn’t been given a chance to replicate those performances at Elland Road in 2019/20.
Leeds’ wide areas are somewhat oversaturated now following the arrivals of Jack Harrison and Helder Costa, as well as the loan deal to bring Jack Clarke back to the club after he was sold to Tottenham.
Hay’s update prompted one fan to respond “please tell me this isn’t permanent”, but in a separate tweet, the journalist confirmed it would be.

Bit of a joke to be honest, the lad scored and assisted double figures but still can’t get a shot at the first team at Leeds ??♂️

Bit gutted about this tbh, never really been given a chance

Really disappointed by this. Had a great season at Donny and given our need for wide options with a bit of speed he looked to be a good fit to start breaking through into the first team. Think this one will come back to bite us sadly
