Loads of Leeds fans have been reacting to some brilliant comments from Kalvin Phillips, as the young midfielder spoke out about life under Marcelo Bielsa.
Plenty of Leeds players have been completely revived by the arrival of Bielsa, but none of the transformations have been quite as drastic as Phillips.
The young midfielder was one of the main scapegoats during Paul Heckingbottom’s terrible tenure, struggling in the midfield alongside Eunan O’Kane.
The tough tackling youngster has been like a new man under Bielsa though, playing in a slightly deeper role than where he played last season.
The 22-year-old is averaging 1.5 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game with an 84 per cent pass completion rate, but his good performances have been marred by two poor displays.
Against both Swansea City and Birmingham City, Phillips was hooked after just 30 minutes as Bielsa shuffled his troops around, but he has clearly not been affected by the minor setbacks.

“Obviously I was gutted,” Phillips said. “Coming off after 30 minutes is never good but I don’t believe the manager should be apologetic for that.
“It’s down to me and I should have played a lot better in that game but things happen in football. I just had to keep my chin up and get on with it.
“If I’m ever taken off after 30 minutes I’ll never take it in a bad way. I’ll always come in the next day with a smile on my face, wanting to learn.
“That’s the key about most of the players in this squad and it’s what the manager wants. If we give the manager what he wants, he’ll give us the time of day to make us better players.”
It’s easy to forget that Phillips is just 22, and it’s fantastic to see the youngster being so open to Bielsa’s ideas.
Fans are already loving his form this season, and they’re now heaping praise on his attitude after these comments.

He’s already stated multiple times that it’s tactical, but still everyone wants to play, especially young players, so it’s great he’s happy to put the team first. It’s blatantly obvious he cares more about the club than Lewis Cook or Charlie Taylor ever did.
