Leeds fans are delighted with the form of 18 year-old Sam Dalby, after the towering striker grabbed two goals in the U23s win over Ipswich on Monday night.
There hasn’t been much to cheer about at Elland Road since Christmas, but the youth teams at Leeds are continuing their fine form.
The U18s are third in their league, and the U23s continued their good run on Monday thanks to a superb performance from Dalby. The match ended 3-2, as Alex Machuca added to Dalby’s excellent brace.
The first goal was a superb team move starting with the goalkeeper; Dalby took one touch to set himself before finishing without hesitation. He added his second after the break, controlling a long ball before firing low past the Ipswich keeper.
The first team have had their fair share of trouble finding the net this season. Pierre-Michel Lasogga looks set to return to Germany this summer, while both Jay-Roy Grot and Caleb Ekuban have failed to find any sort of form in the senior side.
Dalby was signed from Leyton Orient in January, and fans have been reacting to the giant striker’s performance on Twitter. Some of the best reactions can be found below…

Sam Dalby is looking a decent signing. I suppose it it's true what they say about the law of averages.

All look better than what we have in the first team. No way in a million years does Ekuban score that goal.
